Villa Paradiso was built by a wealthy Milanese entrepreneur as a holiday home in 1890. He lived partly in Milan and partly in London and spent his free time at Villa Paradiso. The Villa was named “Paradiso” due to the extraordinary views of the Lake from every part of the terraced terrain. The Villa was built in several stages and the construction took place over a period of more than 10 years.

The 3,500 m² garden consists of more than 10 stone terraces. Each of these stone terraces was hand - built by local artisans - without cement. The original Villa consisted of two buildings. The Villa Paradiso, which served as the main dwelling for the owner on the terraced slopes, and the Casa Paradiso built on a plateau below the Villa which was primarily used for servants and livestock.

Due to financial difficulties, the original owner was forced to sell the Casa Paradiso in 1933. In 1941, the main residence Villa Paradiso was also sold. The subsequent owners were of German origin and used the residence primarily as a holiday home.

Over the past 100 years, a few simple structural changes have been made to the Villa Paradiso. That said, very few changes have been made to the Casa Paradiso and the house retains much of it’s original structure and charm.

In 2013, the Villa Paradiso was acquired by it’s present owners and rebuilt with the objective of retaining the Villa’s timeless charm and dignity as well as updating all electrical, plumbing, heating, insulation and foundation of the entire building including the garage and Serra. The first two floors of the Villa have been designed as Guest Rooms to be rented out during the Summer Season.

The renovation of the 100-year old building and the extensive grounds, took more than two years to complete. Today this historic villa has been completely updated with modern technology and a cozy interior on each of the three floors to enhance the vacation of the Villa’s Guests.
